Mentorship Development Programme

Mentorship has long been regarded as an essential component in nurturing and developing early career academics ‘to grow into confident, competent, scholarly teachers. Regrettably, only a fraction of ECAs currently enjoy the benefits of mentoring at UKZN. In order to support and expand the mentorship engagement in the University, a Mentorship group was established to run a Mentorship Development Programme. The purpose of this programme is to expose ‘senior’ academics (who are willing to be trained as Mentors) to a set of generic and specific mentorship skills.

This programme is funded by the University Capacity Development Programme Grants
